Hampton Court July 2010. We particularly liked: the Plant Heritage marquee supporting the conservation of cultivated plants. Downderry Nurseries stand in the Floral Marquee The Herb society garden
The Downderry Nursery stand was simple and effective with a bee hive in the centre. I was particularly interested to see their stand after meeting Simon Charlesworth and Co. at the Lavender conference last year. And of course my company Daisy Gifts Ltd has a big interest in dried lavender.
The Herb Society garden was very large, and showed the wide range of plants which are grown as medicines or for heathcare, split into four sections, Pharmaceuticals, Herbal remedies, Essential oils and Wild Harvest.
An even bigger garden was the Home Grown area, split into two parts. We were particularlay interested to see Gillian van der Meer’s Fields of Gold (commercial agriculture) exhibit, as she is an East Sussex farmer. We loved the sunflowers. The Market Garden exhibit celebrated commercial horticulture.
